Welcome to all OUAMEAS members,

First of all, please take note of the new title above.  A number of people had found OUAMEAS an impossibility to say. As we move into new media (see the Twitter and Facebook access points at the bottom of the menu bar), a decent name is essential, and indeed, we're called @AnthroSoc on Twitter for the demands of greater brevity. There are some format changes on the website as well.

There is a new section - Education Matters - which outlines OUAMEAS's growing involvement with introducing anthropological viewpoints to younger generations. Read about Helen Carr's recent adventures in school.

The Horniman Museum visit went well on 21 April. To find photos and more details, please click here. We have no specific members' event on the horizon (London is soon going to be busy with people, for the summer), but do please watch for details by accessing this website, Twitter, Facebook and your email in-box.  We will be recruiting new members at the Oxford University Alumni weekend (more details later) in September, and to that end, we have PayPal facilities to ease membership payments (see Membership pages).

Finally, congratulations to OUAMEAS member Jane Bailey Bain on the second reprint of Lifeworks. To find photos and more details of Lifeworks's launch , please clickhere.

More news on the News page; Wishing you a good summer,

Dr. Helen Carr, May 2012
